Dear Sarah,
Bond money is available again. I have a great lender that deals with bond money. At present there is a subsidized program whereby you can get the $8000 tax credit upfront! Please feel free to contact me so I can put you in touch with one of my lenders.
I work very closely with first-time homebuyers and kept abreast of the availability of Bond Money. When issued, it doesn't last long. So that is why I notify my clients immediately so they can get qualified.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you,
Jean Begovich

Bond money is a block of money distributed through certain mortgage entities to help buyers purchase a property in a specific area or Parish.
For example, Jefferson Parish gets blocks of money from the State that provides up to 3.5 % towards the value of the property. The property has to be owner occupied for a period of time, and then the money is "forgiven" ie you do not have to pay it back.
If you are looking to purchase, email me what you are trying to do and I can possibly help..for in Orleans and Jefferson Parish Bond money and similar programs come up all the time.
Although the Louisiana bond money is gone now,it was a program whereby buyers with very good credit could get 100% financing.
