What do zoning laws say about converting multi family homes in Shelton?

Ideally, I'd like to find a 2 family with a large attic, which has interior front and rear entry and exits that can easily be converted into a 3 family. Or a 3 family with the same that easily be converted to a 4 family.

Manny,
here is a link to the zoning scetion of Shelton's website.

If you look at what is required for a multi family property, you will be able to understand what will be needed for a conversion. Any conversion will have to meet all of the codes a new multi would need to meet. You have to consider things like: sewer or septic, road frontage, lot size, parking availability, etc. There is no simple answer to your question, you will have to look at each property individually and see if it meets the requirements.

Manny,

In any town that you need to change a house from what it has to something you want you have to go to that city/town hall to find out.
