Are you referring to HARP?

HAMP is designed to help homeowners avoid foreclosure... ie; Modification, short sale, deed in lieu etc....

Qualifying for HAMP for a short sale sometimes is not the best alternative. Most Co. will try but almost always decline. I say that only because of the the process that is required to qualify.

Many times a typical short sale process is the best way.

Modifications in this economy.
Contact the US Treasury Department for that answer. Immediately after, ask a family who defaulted in their payments. Hardship is hardship; in any language. I could right a book. Enough said.
