William,
I am hoping you are not presently looking at a new home now & questioning the work before you!! Please, if this is the case be sure to do your homework. Take the time & investigate. If you already have made an offer, pay the money & get it inspected. You will be glad you did. Follow the advice previously given to you. Good Luck & happy house hunting!!

Hi William,

If I had concern I would take these actions:

1. Research builders reputation

2 Have the property inspected by a licensed home inspector

3. Contract a building engineer to give you an evaluation of the home

I alwys recommend that my clients get a home inspection, yes even on a new construction. They can tell you a LOT about the condition of the home. You do have to pay for the inspection and it is generally done after making an offer on a house, but if you're not satisfied with the inspection you can either request repairs or void your offer. New houses also usually come with at least a year's builders warranty
