Good afternoon Joy,
Great Question!! I agree with Kristi that it truly does depend on what neighborhoods and areas you are looking at. Buying a condo or townhome can fit all of your needs even with paying the association fees involved it just has to be the right neighborhood and comfortable area for you. I have sold many condo's/duplexes in my time and most people are very happy but first and foremost I want people to fall in love with the location first and then the next step is to find that perfect home. Please let me know if I can help in anyway as we have great maps of New Bern so you can better become familiarized with our area and start to narrow down the location you choose. Looking forward to hearing from you and have a wonderful day!
Hi Joy,
I'd say that the risk/ benefits would depend on exactly what property you're looking at. One of the benefits of owning a condo is low maintenence required which frees you up to enjoy all that New Bern has to offer. Of course that maintenence come with an ongoing association fee, which is the main complaint I hear from condo owners. There are several developments here in New Bern, all with different amenties and fees. I'm a Realtor here in New Bern, please feel free to drop me a line or give me a call, I'd be happy to show you what's available and fill you in on the details.

Joy,
New Bern, NC is a great place to consider. I would definite make a point to be in a private, gated community. Give us a call and we can talk about other area's.
