Fort Lauderdale has something for everyone! No matter what your lifestyle may be, you can find what you're looking for here.

Clients with families appreciate living close to top-rated schools. GreatSchools.org is the leading source of information on school performance. They are so good that we have incorporated their data into our real estate website, so you can view school information alongside a home you might be interested in buying.

The biggest con to living in Fort Lauderdale is there isn't enough time in the day to do and see all the area has to offer! Plus, residents tend to have a year-round tan, which makes out-of-state family and friend green with envy.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about the area.

Fort Lauderdale is one of the most beautiful areas in South Florida and has many good and diverse neighborhoods. South florida is lush with many different cultures, exotic beaches, In which you can enjoy walking or riding a bike, world wide menus of international, ethnic and fusion kitchens, shopping and great architectural contemporary homes and of course the tropical weather all year long. If you have a job lined up already, you will enjoy moving to Fort Lauderdale or any other area in South Florida.

Dear Unknown,

The pros or cons of living with a family is not just in Ft Lauderdale. Having or raising a family has its great moments and its tribulations. Families can be happy or unhappy anywhere.

There are certain areas that are more receptive to families versus single areas. Some areas seem very transient versus families putting down roots. Your own taste for area will be dictated by purchase price.

Fort Lauderdale, also known as the Yachting Capital of the World, is truly a boating and leisure activity paradise, with golf courses galore. Families will appreciate a number of communities and neighborhoods with wide lanes and tree lined streets with plenty of room and parks for children to play in. There is also plenty of commerce in Downtown, with very little traffic. One potential con is the hurricane season and warmth in the summers, however with its coastal locale, the breeze makes Fort Lauderdale several degrees cooler than neighboring cities.

In answer to your first question, what are the pros and cons of living with a family in Fort Lauderdale, my answer is, "It depends upon the family."

In response to your second question about neighborhoods: your Fort Lauderdale real estate agent will not be able to make that decision for you. You need to explore various neighborhoods and look at Fort Lauderdale homes. Find a neighborhood that puts you close to places you like to go and things you like to do, and, most important, does not give you a long drive to work.

Because homes in Fort Lauderdale vary in price, size, and style, and because there are so many appealing and exciting places to live, you may have a very difficult time deciding on one particular neighborhood.

Before you explore, set the goals for what you need in your Fort Lauderdale home. That way, you'll save yourself a great deal of time and energy when you and your real estate agent in Fort Lauderdale begin your search.
