You won't be disappointed. Plus, you have $$ left over to make it the way you want it!!
Gary,
I see you have lots of answers already. I have seen every neighborhood othres mentioned and I think any is fine, BUT my favorite is the Woods of Fountanwood. The lots are all 1+acre, have almost no traffic and there are beautiful properties within your price range. Do not miss checking it out. It is about 5 miles west of I35 on Andice Road (aka Williams Dr.).
Hi Gary,
As a Georgetown resident I must say you have picked a wonderful place to relocate to. I would love to hear your reason for relocating from Ohio. There are many fantastic golf corses in Georgetown amongst many, many other local activities.
Feel free to call me at 512-922-3010 or email tanyapullin@suddenlink.net for a more detailed discussion.
Have a great day.
Tanya
Depends on whether you want acreage or not, new or not, close in to town or access to highways or not, whether you want to be in a good school district, or sacrifice that for better taxes/quick access to highways, etc.
...I could be a better help if I knew your specifics. I like the Fountainwood neighborhoods, Woodland Park, Shady oak Estates...you can find them in the links below:
Check out the map here for all major neighborhoods in Georgetown: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&a
I also profile the major custom home neighborhoods on my website: http://www.georgetowncustomhomes.com/community.php
Good luck!

Gary,
Did you know you are considering a great place to live? The City actually spends its tax dollars on fun stuff for the residents. For example, a couple of weeks ago they opened up a brand new rec center complete with fitness classes, a pool, and not too long before that they opened up a six acre dog park complete with separate facilities for small and large dogs. For families with kids, they have really interesting and inexpensive ways for the kids to spend their spring break and summer vacations. I've signed up my son for the City of Georgetown Spring Break Teen Adventure Camp where he will get to go white water rafting. You can't go wrong moving to Georgetown. It has first rate doctors, medical facilities, educational opportunities and more. As far as neighborhoods go, the main thing to know is that IH-35 divides Georgetown into an east and west side. On the east side, you have some vintage neighborhoods with Southern, Old World Charm. On the West side, you have newer neighborhoods with some top notch builders and spacious lots. A lot depends on your personal preference. If I had to name one thing that I don't care for in certain neighborhoods is that some neighborhoods have to endure the noise from the freeway. The winds blow the freeway sounds at night across the flat landscape and there is not much that can be done about it. It is not about the neighborhood being close to the freeway so much as just the way the wind blows. In your price range, it is possible to find a very comfortable home. If you have your heart set on finding a home on land ( one half acre or more) than that amount will not go very far, but it will buy a nice home on a standard lot. I would encourage you to visit the City of Georgetown's web site. It says a lot about the vision the City has.....I think they are striving for a very pleasant place to call home.
Gary,
Following is a list of subdivisions that might be of interest to you in the Georgetown area: Berry Creek, Sun City (age restriction), Gabriels Overlook, Lake Georgetown Estates, River Chase, Woodland Park, North Lake, Twin Springs and Mission Oaks. Another possibility you might want to consider is the Round Rock area which close to Georgetown. I would be happy to provide you with a relocation package and answer any additional questions. Please feel free to contact me by going to my web site for contact information.
Downtown is a very cute area to live in with lots of older homes and a fun downtown square.
I used to work in Georgetown. It is a great town.
There is also a lake nearby which is great. It is called Lake Georgetown
You are in a great price range so most of Georgetown is in your price range.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you,
J.
