If you want to know if an area will be a good fit for you do your homework.
If you have school aged kids, check the schools out.
If you like to dine out and shop, check out what stores amd eating spots are near by
If you will have to commute , check to see what major freeways are close
But to get STATS on crime go staright to law enforcement for that info.
Best of luck to you,
I have owned my home here in MP since the early 2000's. I have no problem walking my dog late at night. The neighborood shows a "pride of ownership" with a strong "leave it to beaver" feel. The builder was known as a top quality builder of the 1960's. Many realtors include "Meridith Home" and "Foothill Highschool District" to show the quality of the home and the top award winning school district. This area is incorrectly listed in some listings as a Santa Ana Unified district, but we are Tustin Unified. There are some bad areas in Santa Ana, but the 92705 area code is known as a beautful and very desirable area. We are close to every major frwy, 20 min round trip to JohnWayne airport, 5 mins to the train station.
Hope this helps!
Besise the police report I always advised my buyers they must do the DRIVE BY the neighborhood at night and in the weekend to see any increase activities relate to Gang or Drug traffic ... at least talk to couple of neighbors in the area and find out for yourself ... TAKE TIME TO DO THE INVESTIGATION YOURSELF ... beside that if you want to find out more about the neighborhood you can go to this LINK and plug in your Zipcode => http://vinnytran.com/frames.asp?URL=http://www.city-data.com/
