I think a good way to choose a neighborhood is to rent for a short time and ride around. "Best" is a relative term. One person's best may be another's worst: .For example someone who doesn't want to be around small children would probably not choose a neighborhood with lots of small children; parents looking for a neighborhood with small children might not like a neighborhood where residents are mostly elderly (though there might be a lot of grandmotherly snacks for the kids.) Bad credit is best repaired by paying down your credit cards and establishing a period of time where you pay on time. The best way to determine how to mend your credit is to consult a mortgage officer. I would be happy to give you some tips: my dad owned bill collection agencies and we learned the importance of good credit almost from birth . Sometimes, it is a long process to repair credit but it is definitely worth the work. Good luck. Flo Wootten, Prudential Carruthers Salisbury.

Is there a particular need to be in Salisbury? Is it a job relocation? How far are you willing to drive may make a difference on the area you choose to live in vs where you work!
Just a thought - there are lots of beautiful spots in Maryland!

Salisbury is city with a lot of history and charm and lots of lovely homes of all types and ages. You really need to explore the city to get a feel of the various architectures and neighborhoods. Fair housing laws prohibit an agent from telling their opinions on "best" neighborhoods, As for whether or not you can get a loan -- the best thing is to discuss your credit with a loan officer. Long and Foster has offices serving Maryland extensively. Let me know if we can help in any way. Welcome to Maryland. There is an amazing place for having crabs just on the edge of Salisbury which is one of my all time favorite places.
