Home Buying in Laughlin>Question Details

Allen Gero, Home Buyer in Parma, OH

We want to retire to Laughlin next June, how can we find a honest real estate agent to help us secure a property without us making a trip to the area?

Asked by Allen Gero, Parma, OH Sat Oct 2, 2010

We have made many trips to Nevada, we don't want to have to make a trip down to find a property before we make our move, should we make the trip or relay on an agent to find us a suitable condo/townhouse? We are open to ideas and suggestions!

We worked with Randy Williams of Kevin Barbarita Real Estate. Randy knows the area is patient and honest. He has offered support since we closed on this home.

Over the years I have bought and sold a fair amount of residential real estate, and Randy is one of the best I ever worked with !!!

Our team helps many buyer's that are relocating from other area's.

We always like to meet in person at least once at the begining of their home search. We preview area's and get a comprehensive list of what the buyer is looking for in a home. It is extremely important that at that visit we narrow down as many details as possible.

At that point, we preview many homes and work closely with the buyer utilitizing the automated MLS. With "chosen" properties, we will go out and video all aspects of the property. Adding pictures of the surrounding properties, views from the street, along with the surrounding area.

With that said, we like to narrow it down to at least 3-4 properties and recommend a return visit from the buyer. The "chosen" homes can be viewed in a short period of time eliminating hours driving around. The buyer is provided a packet with detailed area information. Amenities, taxes, HOA's, neighborhood shopping, school information, area comp's, etc.

Basically, doing the legwork for the buyer makes the process of home buying simple. Our recommendation would be at least "2" visits. A home purchase is a large investment and should definitely be chosen by the buyer.

Best of luck!

I'm sure there are local agents willing to help you--consider interviewing as many agents as needed from different realty companies and choose the one you like best--ask that you be e-mailed suitable listings--do keep in mind that it is in your best interest to be involved when choosing a property, therefore don't rule out any trips before contract--after all what may be good for one is not necessarily the case for another--
