agent is out of the same brokers office as the listing agent. This was the first time we met the agent. The bank will not pay any closing costs, so Is it okay to expect the agents to reduce their commisions and give us a 2% credit towards closing costs?

Go buy another house or get a new agent. The bank should be willing to pay up to 3% of your closing costs ... especially if you stack them on top of a realistic market analysis. I have no patience for stupid agents who won't do their job for you and, as a result, give hard working professionals a bad name.

Thanks for the opportunity to help. Feel free to contact me directly if you need anything else. I can be reached at 951-571-9229 or sean.giorgianni@gmail.com

Hi Glenn?

It's OK to ask the agents to contribute, if your lender will allow it. Is it OK to expect it? Depends on the agents.

The fact that they are at the same brokerage will have no affect on their commission split.

Best wishes, Linda
