If I could buy in Ocean Shores right now, I would. I think a vacation home is the ideal way to purchase out there! You get the use & enjoyment of a beach home in a great area, and you get the added benefit of the increased value of the home.
Of course, you always need to ask yourself --how long do you want to own, and how much and what kind of a return do want on your investment? Turn it in 10 years? Own it through most of your retirement, for a nest egg? Then sell or hand down in the family?
I do believe they are planning on an asssessment of some sort --roads, wastewater, something--to come up in the future, so find out about that, so you will be able to plan for that expense. But that is also a sign of improvements in the area, which will increase property values even more!
Any good sandy beach area with some base of employment, some amusements, and some sunshine, is usually a good investment!
Best wishes, and let me know if I can help!
