Communicating with clients is an important aspect of a Realtor's work. However, sometimes it is difficult to achieve the correct balance between being a pest reminding the client of everything and calling every day and being respectful of the client's ability to understand and do things on time and as required.

Buying, selling and moving are all stressful situations for families to be in. Realtors may try to deal with the stress they're feeling by backing off on communication. This of course can be a mistake. Realtors should always apologize for not doing what the client wants, but often we wind up apologizing for anything that goes wrong.

It's hard to tell from the question for sure, but it sounds like the Realtor erred on the side of leaving you alone and that was a mistake. The advice to discuss this with your agent is good - let them know that you are organized but you don't know as much as they do, and they need to check your understanding of what to do.

Another thing you may want to do is contact the title company that you will be closing with (their information should be at the top of page 2 of your contract). The title company is usually very good about keeping track of deadlines for contractual items and they may be able to help you so that you don't miss any further deadlines in the transaction.

I agree that you should try to visit with your agent first. If you are uncomfortable doing that, or if it doesn't go well when you do speak with them, then your next step is to call the office and speak with the broker. Each real estate AGENT is an independent contractor working under the direction of a real estate BROKER, and ultimately the Broker is responsible for the actions of their agents. There is likely another agent in that broker's office that could assist you if needed.

If you find out that you are working directly with a broker (and not with one of their agents) then you really don't have any other recourse except to talk to them about your concerns and then complete the transaction with them to the best of your ability.

Good luck with your home purchase!

Since you are under contract for a home you must ride it out and try to work with not only the agent but the lender and the title company. The other people involved can help you stay in contract and informed if needed. I would suggest you voice your concern and if you are really not happy, call the Agents Broker and see if they can have another agent help you through the transaction. Most agent are independent; however, I have stepped up when there was a conflict of personalities and closed a transaction for an agent in my office. Brokers are willing to help if they know what is going on. I would definitely find a way to tell the agent your uneasiness with them, they may just be clueless.

The one thing this Realtor needs to know is that YOU are the client and the Client is always right! Talk to him or her about this situation and if you feel like it hasn't been resolved to your satisfaction, go to the Broker. Best of luck to you!!

Brutal honesty is important. Talk to him/her and let them know how you're feeling. If you don't get satisfction, then go to their broker.

Contact the real estate agent and explain your frustration or contact their Broker and deal directly with the Broker.
