Home inspectors are now licensed by the state so you can expect a good inspection from one of them. Look for someone who has been at it for a while. You do not need a local guy specifically since the procedure is the same all over and local knowledge is not of great importance.
Like a lawyer or a doctor a good personal reference is best but here are some I have used recently
