When are you looking to move? Will you be visiting the area soon, and have enough time to visit some neighborhoods? I see lots of offers to set you up for searches on individual Realtor web sites below. I'm happy to do that as well, but frankly you already have access to Trulia and several other national and local search sites.
Alternatively, I would suggest spending some time actually looking at and visiting some Active listings when you're in town the next time. Online searches and pictures are a good place to start, but you need to get inside these homes to see what they are really like. Can't tell you how many times I've shown properties that look great in the listing, but end up disappointing when you see them up close because they back to a busy street, or have foundation problems, or some other issue you won't see in the listing. Conversely, I've seen listings that don't look good in the listing, but end up being very nice homes.

Welcome to Denver! Villa Park and neighboring Barnum are great areas for new homebuyers - there are some great values and while the homes tend to be a little cozy, the lots are relatively huge. Definitely a bonus if you have any interest in gardening or urban homesteading! There's also great access to public transportation and the new light rail line goes right through the area, connecting you directly to downtown and the Auraria campus. DU will be a little to the south and east but there are great routes to get there. Of course there are other neighborhoods worth exploring, but we've sold several properties in Villa Park and Barnum over the past few months and it's one of the best bargains available.
