be coming through that way. Would this be a reason not to buy this house? Also, the other home we are interested in is in the Maple Grove High School district. Is there a big difference between the schools? I see from the outside, MG seems much newer and nicer, but I am more concerned about the attitude of the kids and the acceptance of others who may be a little different that the norm.
Preliminary construction that began in 2005 has been completed. This project is currently scheduled for 2014.
The 610 question has been around forever. I believe that it is not yet funded though. As far as the schools, if you want to give me a call, or send me an email I will give you my 2 cents worth of info. I have had 2 children graduate from Maple Grove Senior in the last 4 years. I would rather talk about this one on one. My email is BradAnderson@kw.com

They are making long range plans for the 610 Highway. If you would like additional information you can call Jason Flohrs at TwinWest Chamber of Commerce 763-450-2225.
I grew up in Maple Grove 25 years ago... They have been talking about 610 since then, and it hasn't happened yet. The signs that say "future site of 610" have been up my entire life. The latest projection is 16 years out–dependent on available funds.
The new North Memorial Hospital at the northwest corner of Maple Grove will be nearby, so it will happen...sooner than later. The residents that live on the line have been told it will happen for many years. Some don't believe it will come to pass, but it is in the works. I don't envy property owners on the south side of 97th Avenue in Maple Grove. Their homes will be tough to sell. Hopefully, they have some equity and will be reasonable about their listing price so they can sell their homes, yet profit at the same time. If they just bought a couple of years ago and want to sell now, they might take a beating. It's important that they make their home look better than the rest with the same criteria. It make take some cash and some sweat equity, but it'll be worth it. Or, you never know, maybe they don't mind being backed up to it. It sure will make life easier for us commuters!
Hi Elissa,
Traffic does always effect demand for housing. There are certain people who are really bothered by noise and safety issues regarding high traffic streets and will discount a house based on that. To answer your question regarding 610, I would say that it would effect resale of the home, depending on your timeline. For your questions regarding school districts, I always recommend that buyers who have children visit the schools if that is an important factor in their consideration. Schools are always open to having new attendees come take a look around. I then recommend asking someone at the school for some names and numbers of parents that are active in the district to get a feel from them on how the school runs. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding this buying process!
