We are currently in the process of buying a forclosed house with a FHA loan (if that makes any difference?)
After the appraisal we were told we need to fix some things before we can close. However the listing agent is telling us that we are not allowed to do any repairs until after we close. Any advice on how to get in and get the work done? I know we are not the only people who have encountered a similar situation but they all go in their homes? We are supposed to close in less than two weeks also! help!Also does anyone know of a way to get repair money tacked onto your mortgage? Is that possible?
how do you go about pursuing a foreclosed home? by yourself dealing directly with bank(s), or through realtor?. we have located one in murrysville, pa that we are interested in pursuing but after making several calls, I just ran into a wall...(thanks much)
We did ask and our loan person said we were not eligible for the one thing he knew of to get repair money. also we have asked several times why we can't get in there to do repairs and the listing agent is just being difficult, he is trying to pin blame back on my realtor for submitting a fha loan, and his answer was "well why don't they just put more money down and then they won't have to have a FHA loan" yea nice huh?
You may want to talk with your lender about putting repair money in escrow. Also, I would ask why you cannot make the repairs prior to closing?
