The return on investment for a 1 bedroom condo is going to be less than that on a 2 bedroom for renting as well as resale. There are so many deals to be had in the Ahwatukee Foothills, I would take advantage of buying a 2 bedroom. San Riva is nice but runs higher than some of the other communities in Ahwatukee. Have you looked into Mountain Canyon Resort Condos? The location is at the base of the hiking trails and is closer to amenities with no threat of the proposed freeway (which the powers that be have not come to agreement on yet by the way). I currently have a 2 bedroom condo listed that is totally remodeled in Mountain Canyon for under $200,000. There are plenty of other communities as well so I encourage you to look around a bit!
