SO IF I BOUGHT THIS HOME IN WOODSTOCK COOPERATIVE. WOULD I HAVE TO GIVE IT UP IN 29 YEARS WHEN IT WAS JUST ABOUT PAID OFF? DOES THE LEASE BELONG TO THE NAVY?
It turns out that anyone buying into the woodstock homes co-op corporation Is on a new 99 year lease. The land was purchased from the navy in the 60's. Woodstock owns it's own land. The co-op is 100% owner occupied. No one can rent their unit out without some special arrangement with the board of directors.
update. The listing agent said she has already received two offers, and possibly another one. She set the deadline to submit offer by 5 pm tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 27.
I showed this property today --- and it has one of the largest lots in the community. There haven't been any upgrades, but it looks clean especially since it was repainted and re-carpeted. It will need new electrical and increased amperage. And the bathroom and kitchen (there are no appliances) need updating. Otherwise, it appears to be a really good value for the price.

Glad you're considering Woodstock. Being a co-op, there is a strong sense of community in this area. As of this writing, there is only one unit available for sale, at 214 Cypress, listed at $279K. It's townhouse sthyle, with 3 bedrooms/1 bath.

Hello Barb my understanding of he Woodstock Coop homes is that the coop iself owns the land and everytime one of the homes sells the lease renews so a buyer is never in any danger of the land reverting to the navy or any other body.
