Help the community by answering this question:

It looks like you need to sell your current home and that is why the Addendum is necessary. Are you working without a Realtor? Your Realtor should be answering these questions and you should be aware of what it means. Your initial offer should have included a contingency for the sale of your home if that is necessary for you to perform to the contract.

Do you need to sell your current home before you can buy this home? As others have recommended, your realtor should be able to answer your question as the situation is a bit unclear, without knowing the complete picture.

Are you referring to a contingency ... do you have to sell your home in order to purchase theirs? Do they need to sell their home to you in order to buy another one? It's probably one of these scenarios. Please let me know which one.

The best person to ask would be your realtor. They should be knowledgable and able to help you out. Being outside of the situation, there are too many questions to get you the right answer. This is part of the duties of your realtor.
