The best schools are going to be your magnet schools. Caddo Magnet High, Caddo Middle Magnet, and the five elementary schools are Eden Gardens, South Highlands, Fairfield Magnet, Judson, and its one more I cant seem to name right now. The bad thing about these schools is they offer no football, basketball, baseball for Highschool. The middle school and elementary schools offer sports.
The best well rounded public school would probably be C E Byrd they offer a magnet divison also. Byrd and Captain shreve students are starting to use more drugs ( I know because I work with juveniles) Hunington has a high truancy rate, Southwood is a good school but its racially divided at times. Loyola and Evangeline are private schools that are good, but they do not test their kids for as public schools, so you wont know if your student is getting the skills needed based off state tests. You probably want to stay clear of Fair Park, and Booker T. Washington. Oh, Northwood is a good school also, but it also is racially divided at times.
good Luck. If you are moving to the area soon the school wont matter, we place kids by zip code, however that is in the process to be changed, how soon is uncertain.

You can go to the Louisiana Department of Education website http://(www.doe.state.la.us) and research the school information. The school districts can be a bit confusing in Caddo Parish, the best way to find out for sure which school your children will attend it to go the the Caddo Parish School District website http://(www.caddo.k12.la.us) and enter the address. It will list which schools your children are eligible to attend. Welcome to Shreveport!

There are several good schools in the Shreveport area. The southeast side of Shreveport seems to be the area of choice for many parents of school age children because of the elementary, Jr. High and Sr. High choices. There are some Magnet schools in the inner city area that accept pupils on GPA. not according to School District. I would be happy to send homes in the southeast area of Shreveport.
