USDA income question?

Asked by Jazzie32225, Jacksonville, FL Mon Jun 17, 2013

If you are married but living in separate households from your spouse. Will USDA count my spouses income? What if you can prove that I live on my own? Like a lease agreement? I can qualify with my 2 kids but the spouse puts me over the limit for the family of 4.

They will include both incomes as long as you and your husband will be moving into the new home and the new home will be considered your primary residence for the both of you.

I'm pretty sure they will want to see how you filed last year's income tax retun. That would tell them whether you filed married filing jointly or married filing separately. I would suggest you get those records together first and talk to the intake person online at http://www.USDA.gov
