Home Buying in Vero Beach>Question Details

Doglover, Home Buyer in Boca Raton, FL

Thinking of buying a condo-townhouse in Florida where i can bring my dogs. Are there any condo communities near Vero Beach that allow larger dogs?

Asked by Doglover, Boca Raton, FL Sun Jan 16, 2011

i would not be living there year round, so prefer a condo with exterior maintenance included, rather than a single family home, but many communities have pet size restrictions; my dogs weigh 35 and 55 lbs. respectively. They are inside pets, not left outside or let loose.

Townhomes fairly uncommon in Vero; however just off the bridge to the island there is a 2006 townhome community of a Key West style called Bridgepointe that offers sing fam spaces/ownership with condo like conveniences, including no pet restrictions AND affordable $264/m fees that include clubh, tennis, fitness center, tennis, pool all in a 'near everything' locale that puts the island, beaches, mainland shops services 5 mins away. Plus, we have available the last release of the final 10 units never sold/occupied from the developer, fully warrantied, incuding the area's only 10 yr, 100K drywall warranty for buying with confidence! Priced from $209K these 2160SF units prev sold from the developer for $375K+! Check them out: http://picasaweb.google.com/DaleyandCompany/1965Bridgepointe… Call/write with ? Baytree is pet friendly and allows dogs up to 51 lbs for Doglovers like you! Suppose your larger dog could diet a bit to qualify? Baytree offers courtyard villa condominium homes in a variety of sizes and prices. Some are east of Hwy A1A on the island and others are west of A1A. The community features deeded beach access, a nice clubhouse, tennis courts and 4 community pools, one of which is oceanside. Email me for a complete list of currently available homes in Baytree. ginny@MyVeroBeachRealEstate.com

I own a townhouse style duplex with large back yard at the beach on Huthinson Island. I just finished complete renovations of both sides and have it up for sale, $199,900... no home owners association. Walk 750 feet out your front door (with your dogs) straight to the beach. Great location near everything. see photos at: http://www.AlternateFuels.com/731.htm

I agree with Alma
Financing condos is tough as a 2nd home and especially when most condos are not on the FHA approved list.

Hi Pet Lover, I live in a community that is very pet friendly. We have no weight restrictions, but a maximum of 2 pets/unit. The community is Grand Harbor and I would encourage you to have a look at my website, keytoverobeachrealestate.com. There are other communities allowing pets, some with weight restrictions, but there is not an abundance of them. Grand Harbor has condos, townhouses, and single-family homes, so there is a residence which will suit your needs. Of course, I would be happy to help you find something in another community if that would meet your requirements better.

Sincerely,

Hi Doglover,

I have a Buyer closing on an Oceanfront Condo IN VERO next week. They have TWO 95 lb labs.
If you want a water front condo, I know who in the area will accept YOUR two dogs.
We did quite a bit of searching because most condos do not allow two dogs the size of yours.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance. You did not mention your price range.
The condos I am thinking of range in price from about $175,000 to about $1 million.

You can email me at marywanzer@cs.com or call my Cell 772-359-9706

also... you need to keep in mind that many condos are not eligible for financing so you may have to pay ALL CASH. Most townhouses are okay (as long as they are not organized as a condo) and you can buy with as little as 3.5% down with an FHA mortgage.

Dear Doglover,

Many condo buildings have pet restrictions, of 25-35 pounds! Your best bet would be to look into townhome community, as they usually have few or no restrictions on pets.

Doglover, let me know if I can be any assistance.

Sincerely yours,
