Hello friend,
You can find a small town atmosphere in the towns that surround Charlotte and may find work in Charlotte. Since the NC unemployment rate is at 10%, I would suggest being sure that you have a job here before making the move. Adequate affordable housing is not an issue in this area. Towns like Huntersville, Denver, Matthews, Mooresville, Fort Mill, Concord, Indian Trail, Indian Land, Mount Pleasant, Davidson, Cornelius would probably appeal to you.
The easiest way for a realtor to duplicate your present housing is for you to send photos of your house, street, subdivision, and favorite places to frequent via e-mail to that realtor on-line. Then a realtor that is familiar with the entire area can take you to the right places to get the best housing for you.
Warm regards,

Hi, I've lived in the greater Charlotte area for over 40 years and know it very well. There are many possible locations that may work for you. In about 10 minutes on the phone, I could get enough information to begin to guide you. And on that call, you could get a feeling for me and decide if you want me to work for you. I would certainly want to get to know you some before making any recommendations.

Hello
From what I read about Canton, you should look at Matthews, Mint Hill to the east and Belmont to the west. Huntervilles is really nice as well.
Will you work in the area?

Come check us out! I think you will find plenty of southern charm here too. I've helped others to relocate from Georgia. They have loved the Steele Creek area and Lake Wylie areas where you will find more of a small town feel but will still have access to great golfing, boating, parks, nature, and more. This area has had a strong community say-so in the development of the area. We have medical services, shopping, and most anything you would need close at hand but we still have farms and are an easy commute to downtown if that is needed. I would love to help you. If you would send me your contact information, I could send listings and information to you to help you with your big decision.

based on what I can find out about Canton GA. I would recommend staying in the outskirts of Charlotte. that will give you the same feeling that georgia has now without the large city life. A large part fo where to go in the outskirts fo charlotte is goign to depend on ho w much of a coomute you want. Where you are goign to work and what else you amy be looking for in a town.

If you are looking in the north side of Charlotte I would recommend Huntersville, Davidson. The west side maybe the Belmont and Mount Holly area. if you are looking in the south side of Charlotte i would consider steele creek area and Matthews, Waxhaw, Weddington in the south side. On the east side Concord is a nice area as is the Harrisburg area.

Anotehr deciding factor will be the price range you are looking in. What you are looking for in a home will help narrow it down for you as well...

if I can be of any further assistance please let me know..

Moving from a small town like Canton to a city like Charlotte can be exciting and sometimes overwhelming! And I can certainly identify with that as I moved from a small town in western NC to the Queen City fifteeen years ago. You'll want someone who can help you every step of the way, as it is a lifestyle change not just a new address.

I have been a Realtor for more than 30 years and have helped hundreds of families move to Charlotte since living and working here. I would be honored to hear about your thoughts and plans to possibly move. Feel free to give me a call or send me an email. Once I understand what is important to you, I will be able to send you information to get you started. I promise to look out for your best interests.

Personally yours,

Peggy

It seems like Canton is a lot like Mooresville and a little bit bigger than Davidson. There are a lot of small Southern towns around Charlotte that have Clanton's feel. It is just going to depend on how far you want to drive... if you have to drive... to Charlotte. You might also like Belmont, which is super cute. Concord has a nice historic district and Monroe NC has been featured in a lot of made for TV movies because it has such a classic square with shops and court house.

If you want to be in Charlotte but have a small town neighborhood feel you should check out Dilworth, Myers Park, and Midwood. They all have shops and historic homes... and basically "everyone knows your name"! They are like small towns in the big city.

We have lots of videos about neighborhoods at http://www.HipHoods.com or check them out on http://www.LexieLongstreet.com

Hi,
You'll love living in the Charlotte area. My husband & I moved here 17 yrs. ago from Miami, FL. (Originally from Indiana & CT) We both work for Remax Executive in NC & SC. I have attached a link to the subdivision we live in for an example of Lake Wylie, SC. Just across the boarder from NC. Only a 20 min. drive to downtown Charlotte or the airport. http://(www.riverhillsplantation.com) . This is a golf, lake, marina gated community with a varfiety of people from everywhere at every age!.
We would love to help you in your search for a new home. Please let us know what you have now and wish to have here. The price, sq. ft., bedrms. etc... What amenities or type of neighborhoods you prefer. We can then send you a number of homes for you to look at, so you can get an idea of what is here. Please view our website (which is being worked on!) and go under relocation or areas. You can see information on areas in Charlotte, down to Lake Wylie. Taxes, schools, golf, lakes etc. Go to http://www.altieriteam.com.
We're on our way to show condos in the uptown/Dillworth area right now. If condo living is for you, there is plenty of that also.
Look forward to hearing from you!

Good Morning! Relocating can be a bit overwhelming. I cannot decide whether the Internet makes it easier or more difficult. Probably it is a combination of the two. When looking at Charlotte homes and communities online, you may find a few too many options, from just over the state line to Matthews, Pineville, Cornelius, Gastonia, Mooresville, and of course Charlotte. To help you focus on the areas that might best fit your sense of community, can you let me know what it is that you love about Canton GA? While no two communities are the same, we can probably find an area that will make you feel at home. Since you are relocating, you might need to consider a commute time. Where will your office be located? That might help narrow down the search. Feel free to reply privately at hilary@hilarybroadway.com or visit my site at http://www.HilaryBroadway.com.
The Charlotte area has much to offer and a large variety of community and home styles. I am sure you will love it here!
Regards,
Hilary

What is it that you like about Canton? Historical homes? Walking distance to restaurants & shops? Good Schools? There are numerous smaller neighborhoods within Charlotte ranging from historical trolley neighborhoods like Dilworth to areas of completely new growth like Ballantyne.

Feel free to email me at erin@mytowhome.com or call 980 254 4209 with a description so I can better help you!

I don't know much about Canton, GA, but I just looked it up and it seems to be a small but quickly growing city. Charlotte is a wonderful place to live for people of all ages and backgrounds. It is truly a city of transplants. I love raising my family here. If you are looking for a smaller community similar to Canton then there are a lot of great areas surrounding Charlotte as well such as Matthews, Waxhaw, Fort Mill and many others. If you want to give me a call sometime I would be happy to better understand what Canton is like and what you love about it and then could give you better advice on what areas around here would be just like it.
