There is an abondoned house I would like to buy, but no one seems to know who the current mortgage holder is.
The last known holder (from the security deed) say they no longer have it and don't know who does. How do I find who has it so I can buy it?

I would suggest going online and seeing if this area has a local online recorded documents site. In Maryland we are able to go online and download documents by searching the property address. you may also go and seek a title company in that area to run a title search.
