Carmen Chapl…, Home Seller in Los Angeles, CA

The neighborhoods in Westchester are very nice. Is there a lot of air pollution or plane noise being so close to LAX?

Everybody has their own tolerance level. Best is to visitaround the area at different times of day and see what you think.

Hi Carmen,

There are always some drawbacks to living near the airport, but the price reflects this as other agents mentioned below. It is a great area and getting better in the past few years.

Feel free to contact me directly at (310) 717-1321 or JamieTian@RodeoRE.com with any other questions or if would like me to email you a list of properties for sale in the Westchester area.

Hello,
Westchester is an awesome area! Of course, there's parts of this area that are more desirable than others. The price range reflects this. The noise depends on the exact area. Several years ago LAX had paid and installed new windows to homes in the noise affected areas, which worked beautifully.
Please feel free to give me a call and we discuss the different parts of Westchester.

Hi Carmen,

I currently live and work in Westchester and I never had an issue with air pollution nor am I ever troubled with noise. The noise depends on the exact area and your distance from the runway. The area of Westchester I live in is called Kentwood, which is North of Manchester Ave, East of McConnell Ave and West of Sepulveda Ave). Having lived and worked in different parts of Los Angeles in the past; I can tell you that Westchester is an excellent area to live in! Especially if you want to start a family. As any other city, there are more desirable parts of Westchester but naturally, the price will fluctuate accordingly.

Feel free to contact me directly at (310) 966-0119 or alex@besthomesintl.com with any other questions. I’ll be more than happy to email you a list of properties for sale in the Westchester/Playa del Rey area.

It depends upon what area of Westchester you are looking at, some areas near the flight path or near runways have more issues with noise then others. The LAX soundproofing project has a map, that you can refer to for areas that need additional soundproofing http://www.laxmasterplan.org/
LAX has been working with the home owners near the flight path and runways. LAX's soundproofing program began in 1997.

No noticeable air pollution. As for noise, it depends on which area of Westchester you will be living in.

Check my Westchester website for more information, and a map of the different neighborhoods in Westchester. http://douglaslagos.com/westchester-ca/
