property picked out first? Who would you refer to get pre approved in Montgomery County. And what documentation is required?
Becky, you cannot get into the Montco Program without a pre-approval. If you would like to work with someone who knows and understands the workings of this program, let me know.
Good Luck,

Hi Becky. I think Greg answered your question to a "T"!:)
One thing I wanted to mention just in case you didn't know: a buyer's agent costs you NOTHING! That's right....your agent's commission gets paid from the Seller.
The homebuying process can be rather complicated and, as a result, you really need a Realtor representing you, to avoid any costly mistakes.
Once again, the best to you as you embark on this exciting adventure!
Warmly,
Judy

I believe that the Montgomery County First Time Home Buyer Program requires that you get qualified for the program before selecting a home. Once you are qualified the County will provide you with a list of approved lenders to get your mortgage prequalification from. Please refer to the website I provided earlier for further clarification. You can also email or call me and I would be happy to assist you further. If you are currently working with an agent you should have the agent assist you in getting approved for the program.
