As a previous homeowner in Tartesso that currently lives in Verrado, I think I can provide you with the information that you need. We purchased our 4200 square foot home in September of 2006...we thought we would live there for at least 10 years, we were in for a surprise. The subdivision has so much potential to be something great, but, many factors are playing against it. With the market crash, the distance to closest store/gas station, and lack of good schools, the neighborhood basically was forgotten. The larger homesizes seem to make up for the drive and lack of amenities, but, over time, it really wears on you. We loved the splash pad, that is when they were working, but so did every other person that lived just outside of Tartesso...it would get overrun and way too busy for my then 4 and 2 year old children. The HOA went from $50 to $75 in 3 years, and they did not maintain the parks or common areas, plants were left dead, grass brown all summer and winter...After our home value dropped considerably, $200K, and along with other factors inour personal lives, we decided to move closer and Verrado was the most appropriate choice for what we were looking for.
The school district is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. They are an Excelling school and have great Parent/Teacher involvement. The community is flawless, clean, well lit, boundless parks and open spaces to play. There is a store directly centered in the community with a "Main Street" district and feel. They have thier own gym and pool that is available to residents. The major difference is price. Verrado is maintaining their homevalues, as best as can be in this crazy market, but, you will get a substantially smaller home here versus Tartesso.
I highly reccomend you tour Verrado. They have a welcome center to help you through the ins and outs of it all, you will not be dissapointed!
