Hi Msuchica,

As my colleagues stated there are a number of downpayment assistance programs, every county has one. These programs usually require you to participate in workshops or classes to prepare you for the buying process. In addition there is a USDA rural assistance program that will be available in the coming months.

If you need assistance with a loan officer, feel free to contact me.

Good Luck!

Hi Msuchica!

Congratulations on considering homeownership!

Depending on where you want to live, there may be different programs for downpayment assistance. In Baltimore City there are some, in the County others...so location is helpful to know.

I have a loan officer who I work with who is very familiar with most downpayment assistance programs. Please let me know if you would like to speak with her so you can begin moving forward!

Thanks so much!

Sincerely,

Dear Msuchica,

Congratulations on venturing into MD homeownership. You can find down payment assistance programs through HUD.gov, the county, or most often through your loan officer. I'd be happy to provide you with a list of mortgage lenders for you to contact and seek program options. In addition, if you're not already working with a REALTOR, I'd be honored to provide you a list of homes that meet your criteria and to arrange tours.

If you're working wtih an agent already, please feel free to still contact me and I will be happy to send you the list of 4-5 mortgage lender contacts to call about closing grant options.

Warmest regards,
Ariana Loucas

Hi M,

Your first stop is going to be a great local lender who knows all the programs available in the area where you are searching. Let me know where you are looking and I can get you connected.

If you are in the Fort Meade area I would love to work with you. I was a single mom myself for a while and there is absolutely no tougher job.

Msuchica,

It's great you want to be a first time homebuyer. Rates are really low right now . You are making a great decision. Some cities and counties have separate programs. What area are you interested in? USDA has a program also. Please email or call me.
