Should an offer be made before having an home inspection? When does an appraisal occur?

In the process of buying and I need some advice.

Yes you can make an offer on the property and if it is accepted in your contract you should have a home inspection and appraisal contingency addendum.

Typically you would make an offer contingent upon a private home inspection. Once your offer is accepted you would have your home inspected within the agreed-upon time frame. After your home inspection contingency is removed, your mortgage lender would order the appraisal.
