Condo was purchased from a previous owner (not a new construction).
The title transfers through a conveyance deed. Assuming your are doing a normal transaction. Yes you will get it. First it will be recorded and then the if any money was borrowed then that will be recorded right behind it.
If you are borrowing the money to buy it, trust me the bank will make sure the deed is right.
After the deed is filed with the state offices, you will receive it in the mail. If you are dealing with NY City, it could take up to a year...I know mine did.
Once you close on your property you will receive several copies of everything you signed, much of which can be used to prove ownership, title filings, county filings, tax, etc, you'll have enough paper to chop down a small forest... You should eventually receive a package from your attorney/title that will include proof of your Title being filed with the county clerk's office - that's the Title companies job.
Hi Joel. Usually you'll receive a copy after the deed has been recorded. It may take a few weeks or couple of months depending on how quickly they process recorded documents.
Yes! Have you closed yet?
Hi Joel:
You will receive the original recorded deed and title policies via mail within a few weeks of closing. Be sure to keep them in a place of safekeeping as you will need them for re-sale for title search purposes.
Congrats on your purchase!
