Should I buy a home in the Mira Lagos subdivision (Grand Prairie, TX) or in the Mansfield National/Garden Heights subdivision (Mansfield, TX) near by?

They both are in the Mansfield ISD, which is a pretty good school system.

Eja,

Mira Lagos is a large community with about 2000 homes. Most of the homes are priced in the $150-$250 price range. I think these homes are a safe investment as this is a growing community and should continue to be so for quite some time. I would be concerned with the higher priced homes as there just are not enough of them around the immediate area to support their value, at least not at this time. In Mansfield National, stay clear of the railroad track- it will be loud at night and will be a deterrent when reselling. Garden Heights is fine and in a good location. I own a First Texas home right around the corner and have been very pleased wth it. If I can help any further, please feel free to call- 972-345-8589. Christian

Agent can not recommend which area is best for a buyer consider "steering" violation of professional code of ethics.

I also give thumbs up to both communites.

Mira Lagos is obviously a much much larger community and has home ranging from the low 100s to the 600K+.

If schools are important to you, you may want to look at individual schools that your kids will be attending to made a decision instead of the district.

Hi Eja,

Both are very gorgeous communities. The nice thing about Mira Lagos is that all schools (elementary, intermediate, middle, and high school) will all be within that subdivision.) The high school will be complete Fall 2012 & Cora Spencer was named top-rated school by the Texas Education Agency. Garden Heights is also another gorgoeus community and Smith Elementary is also a top-rated school.

I am very familiar with the Grand Prairie/Mansfield area. I would be happy to assist! I'm a Buyer's Agent that has been specializing in the sales of Brand New Homes for almost 10 yrs!

Please feel free to call or email me at your convenience.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Both are pretty nice neighborhoods. Seems like there have been a lot of foreclosures in Mira Lagos.
I would probably find the right house at the right price for you...and worry more about the house than the neighborhood.
