Congratulations on your home find! I think the neighborhood is great, but the public schools are average. Go to GreatSchools.com and look up information on the different schools and read all of the reviews. Again congratulations!!

Hi Rai,
The Rose Garden is one of my favorite neighborhoods in San Jose. Lincoln high school is a magnet high school, and has some very good programs. There are also great private schools around, including St. Lucys Catholic School & Bellermine High School (all boys). As far as the neighborhood, location, and homes, my clients love the area. I have sold several homes in the area and my clients LOVE it. The variety of homes, from cute 2 bedroom homes to majestic beauties, just adds to the desirablity of the area. My clients on Hanchett love the ability to walk to Peets, or to the bakery. (Side note - don't miss the cinammon bread at Greenlee's Bakery. Just the best!!) It is also such a convenient location, close to so much stuff, including a new Whole Foods coming soon, & Trader Joes over on Coleman. No personnal experience but here is a link for scores. Just zoom in and you will see the neighborhood elementary/middle/high: http://www.schoolperformancemaps.com/ca The Alameda has seen very positive changes over the last 5 years. A re-birth of sorts. The newest restaurant on The Alameda "7" is very good dining. http://www.7restaurant.com/ There are several new developments which will bring even more business to the area. There is a great neighborhood association that will be willing to tell you more: http://rgnpa.org/home.html as well as Hanchett Hester Park Association: http://www.shpna.org/ Congrats on finding the right home!
