Sunjose, Home Buyer in Plano, TX

Resell factor of Master BR all by itself with a separate staircase....

Asked by Sunjose, Plano, TX Thu Aug 7, 2014

Found a home with separate staircase to master bedroom upstairs..So that staircase leads to just the Master BR..There is another staircase which leads to other two BRs and game room. Downstairs is open floor concept....
Will Resell be a problem? School district is the best and homes in this community are not lasting long in the market

It all depends on the preference of the future buyer. Some may like this feature some may not. Have you talk to your realtor about this? What is her/his comment? Do you like this feature on the home?

We can never tell for sure what a Buyer will buy and not buy. So you will just have to take a leap of faith and hope that someone will also find it nice and unusual as you did when selling.

I think anything unconventional will leave some buyers wondering, the same way you are wondering now.

Sounds like an addition, not the original design.
Resell is always tough to predict for the future.
Right now everything is selling.
5 years ago it was tough.

If the home is in the north, some funky elements can be looked past just to move in to the right school district. Depending on the convenience that it adds to or detracts from the situation, it shouldn't be a major issue with resale.

I don't think resell should be a problem on a house of this description. Just remember to price it right when it is time to sell.

Sounds like a PERFECT situation for to boomerang family.
This convoluted floor plan clearly is not preferable, but can be overcome with other tangible assets and/or matching the house to the proper buyer.
So, home much do YOU like the house?

I don't think it'll be a problem as long as there is a way to access the master bedroom from the second floor.
