I'd recommend central Wilmington where I currently have a 2 bedroom month to month rental available with community pool, tennis & fitness center. Also, there are many options for homes in your price range. These are both in the same area & school district. You can see the districts for New Hanover County schools for 28409 at http://www.nhcs.k12.nc.us/ . More detailed you can search by street name. Look for Saint James Ct. as an example for the rental. In the state of NC you can be fully represented by a buyer's agent at no cost to you...for free! It is a great idea to rent for a little while until you are familiar with where you are going to purchase. Good question. First of all, sounds like you could use the help and guidance of a REALTOR familiar with the area. Secondly, I would recommend visiting ncreportcards.com- depending on what age your children are you will get a pretty good idea of the various school available in Wilmington and surrounding areas and how they compare to one another.
