would like a short-term or month-to-month (2 BDRM) rental while we look to buy a home. We prefer a good school district, and would like a sense of community (community pool, little league, etc). Can anyone out there help? We are coming from NYC, I work out of a home office. I'd like to pay no more than 250-350K. Are there any towns in particular that you'd recommend? I'd also like the rental & the house to be in the same school district. Many thanks!

I'd recommend central Wilmington where I currently have a 2 bedroom month to month rental available with community pool, tennis & fitness center. Also, there are many options for homes in your price range. These are both in the same area & school district. You can see the districts for New Hanover County schools for 28409 at http://www.nhcs.k12.nc.us/ . More detailed you can search by street name. Look for Saint James Ct. as an example for the rental. Thanks - Chris

Good Afternoon! Shannon is correct, you definately need the assistance of a buyer's agent in this area. In the state of NC you can be fully represented by a buyer's agent at no cost to you...for free! It is a great idea to rent for a little while until you are familiar with where you are going to purchase. Please email me if you would like me to send you more information or homes available for short term rental as well as those for sale in your price range. My website has a ton of helpful area and school links, just click on links at the top. I will look for your email so I can send you further detailed info on what you are looking for.

I look forward to hearing from you!

RGA,
Good question. First of all, sounds like you could use the help and guidance of a REALTOR familiar with the area. Secondly, I would recommend visiting ncreportcards.com- depending on what age your children are you will get a pretty good idea of the various school available in Wilmington and surrounding areas and how they compare to one another. There really are too many good areas to list in this response as far as nice places for you to consider renting before you buy. I will be happy to talk with you further about you move and your needs (as a family) when you have the time....(910) 512-5399 or you can email me directly at shannonlee@seacoastrealty.com Best of luck to you and I look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks,
Shannon Lee
