Home Buying in Allen>Question Details

George Raymo…, Real Estate Pro in Fort Worth, TX

Relocating to the Allen, TX.

Asked by George Raymondo, Fort Worth, TX Mon Feb 11, 2013

Want to buy a home but need a short term rental while searching. I heard there are companies that use renters as custodians for higher price homes in effect staging them with an actual family. There is one company Prestige, but they have no properties available. I heard there was others. Any ideas?

Yes....you can contact me.
I have a couple of contacts.
It's a neat deal...typically you pay about 1/3 to 1/2 the normal rent.
The bad part is you have to have the home show ready all the time and let a stream of steady buyers in the property.
Now properties are selling, so you may have to move out after 30 days. Typically they'll give you 30 days notice to move.

While it is possible to find that sort of arrangement, you should be aware upfront of the requirement to move out with very little notice. Once sold, you can't stay.

Castle Keepers are individuals with ***nice furniture***, which is matched with an available house that is “For Sale” to stage it. With the aid of a Castle Keepers® interior designer, the castle keeper will furnish a house with their furniture making that house more marketable. This enables castle keepers to enjoy a high standard of living, while paying a comparatively low monthly fee.

Castle keepers can be:
â– People who lost their employment and/or lost their own home in a foreclosure, as long as they currently have income to pay the fees.
â– People relocating to DFW.
â– People saving to purchase a house.
â– People who have sold their existing home and need somewhere to live until their new house, under construction, is completed.
â– Professionals, interior decorators, and others who wish to maintain a high standard of living at a low monthly fee, while not committing to a long term lease.

CastleKeepers is an option too. If you just need a place to live short term, you can also do short-term apartment leases. I lived in California for a a few years and now my office is in Allen, so I can understand your transition and help you with any info that you might want to become acclimated to the area.

George,

Call Kenny Raupple at (214) 957-0400 - kenny@castlekeepers.com

He is a licensed Realtor in the area, and I have had good experiences with Castle Keepers. Please keep in mind that you might find a rental home that works, but then end up moving again right away. Our market is currently a strong sellers market and homes are moving very quickly.

Additionally, if you want a short-term lease in an apartment, there are a few that I have worked with in the past. One in particular is near 75-Central and George Bush Turnpike and they up to 4-bedroom apartments, they have garage spaces (for additional fees), and they do short term leases starting at 60-days.

Welcome to Texas! If I can be of further assistance, please let me know. If you are not already working with a Realtor in Texas I would be happy to assist you with your move(s).

Hello George,

We have a couple of companies here in Texas that do this. They will put you in a home until that home is sold, just a matter of matching you with the no of months required. Consideration is based on lease price, type of home, square footage and type of furnishings you will be using to stage the home with. You will be responsible for maintenance and presentation of this home to potential buyers while on the market. How long a term are you looking for ? Alternatively, can do 3-6 month apartment rentals. There are pros and cons to both..

Text me or email me and I can forward you to reputable companies and share some things you may want to consider when choosing the option that best suits your needs.

While you are renting, the process can start to look for a permanent home based on your family needs, work and budget.
