Purchasing a residential lot...

Asked by roelster8, Humble, TX Sat May 26, 2012

About how much money can one expect to pay for adding water and sewer to a lot? Also, is there usually a lot of maintenance and troubleshooting required to keep the system running smoothly?

If you mean a city lot, it will be the nominal cost of water and sewer taps to the city system. If you are on raw land, you will need a septic system $8000-10,000 depending on the land and the number of bathrooms. You will also need a well, about the same cost. If in Brazoria Co you will probably need to build the pad up with fill dirt to get your
slab out of the flood zone. If you need a builder referral, we have several we work with.

Thanks for your info. Yes, I was referring to raw land. The listing stated no public water and no public sewer. So a good estimate would be somewhere near the 20K mark. That is a bit of a turnoff in regard to that listing.

Best to speak direct with contractor much depends on distance to make any connection. Also requires the city permits most likely
