Purchasing a home in Orlando for rental income

My husband and I are ready to take charge of our future and retirement income. We believe the best way to earn income is to buy investment property. we currently live in NY but we absolutely love Florida. we've been to Miami and Ft Lauderdale and would like to visit Orlando soon. we are thinking of starting our portfolio with purchasing a home in Orlando that we can use as rental income or for vacationers. We have no idea how to go about the process. Any assistant will be greatly appreciated

No offence to my realtor colleges, but they all know I think realtor commission is 100% completely FORFEITED HOME EQUITY!

As a Mortgage Broker, from my desk, I can orchestrate and direct, from start to close, an entire purchase process. ALL realtors know Mortgage Brokers can do their job, but few, if any can do a Mortgage Broker’s job!

I’m wrong? Think about it…then why have thousands of Mortgage Brokers become realtors over the last 7 years, but ZERO, NONE, NO realtors have become Mortgage Brokers? Because they can’t do the job of a Mortgage Broker in 2013…period!!

Step one, go to Barnes and Noble and buy a book on real estate investing.
Step two, read it cover to cover and take notes and highlight it.
Step three, read all the guides you can find right here on Truila under the advice tab

That's how i started in 1999 and you will be glad you did it that way too.

The vacation market can be a great business, but it is a business not a passive investment. If you are looking for a passive investment you will certainly do much better in the long term rental market.
