No plans exist to remove those lines, which are active supply lines. It would cost millions of dollars to bury them - they could not be moved somewhere else. Count on them being there for a very, very long time to come.

They should be removed, but with all developers you just never know. The plant was mothballed years ago, so at some point I would expect it to be torn down and the lines and towers to disappear. I've also hear rumors of the lake being filled in. If you are thinking about buying a new home always use a realtor. Every day on this site we get questions from buyers about the bad experiences they've had with builders when they attempted the purchase on their own. Several examples can be seen on my website under new homes. Buyer representation is typically free to you and typically well worthwhile.

Aj,

Contact your local power provider. The answer is probably no.

The power grid is a series of transmission lines across the certificated area serviced by the power provider. This is controlled by the Public Utility Commission (PUC). The transmission lines are too high in voltage to bury so they remain on towers.

Distribution lines are another story. They can and many times are buried, especially in an up-scale community. This adds value to the property and provides a better viewscape for the community.

Good luck!
