Possible relocation with inlaws to Asheville, NC

We're thinking of moving from CT to NC with our 2 young sons and inlaws. Looking for 3 BR/2 BA home with separate inlaw apt, etc. on 1 - 2 acres of land. Price range $150,000 to $300,000. Anything like that in Asheville? Also, what is the closest "city" to Asheville for employment purposes??

Here's a few to look at with some kind of additional living space. In that price range it might be good to concentrate on the in-law suite rather than the acreage. If you need acreage we could set up a different search . There are many considerations such as how close in to town you want to be etc.

When searching for jobs, I can send you a list of sites where you can register to find jobs if you would like. Once you see what kind of jobs come back, we can base the search around that area. The areas to look in are Asheville, Hendersonville, Weaverville, Black Mountain. Of course, it depends on what kind of employment you are all looking for. You also may wnat to consider Hendersoville. Housing costs are less as well and it is an easy commute to get to Asheville, Hendersonville,Brevard and even down into South Carolina (Greenville) depending on what work opportunities you need.

You can find a home in Asheville in that price range. It will be closer to the 300 range to find an in law apt . Asheville is a great place to live. Employment depends on what type of work. Check out the info on my website. I'd love to help you get here..

Joa is right - you need to have an agent here who is willing to make your needs a priority. To see what might be available in our area cop and paste this URL into your browser: - http://www.wncrmls.com/wnc/maildoc/a002hB5591.html - Then call or email me (828-329-1615 - Gib@GibGibson.com) - Good Luck - Gib (also moved here from CT)

JCA:
You might also look to just to the North of Asheville in a community like Weaverville. Prices seem to be much more reasonable in the communities just to the North of Asheville. What kind of employment might you be considering? Just give me a call I'd be glad to help!

Joa,

You need a buyer's agent in Asheville to let you know what is available. My company Keller Williams has a strong presence there and I know lot's of agents in the offices there.

Give me a call or email me through my web site and I will be happy to find you an agent that would fit your needs.

Asheville is a great place to live! It is the largest city in the area but there are a lot of smaller surrounding towns.

Best Wishes!

It is possible to find such a home in Asheville. I recently sold one for $210,000. Asheville is where most people here work, but Greenville, SC has a high tech industrial park about one hour away.

Asheville is a great place, mainly tourist oriented. Employment depends on which sector. Manufacturing, you may have to go as far as Hickory, NC. Plenty of homes available in that price range, but not quite sure about the acres or the in-law apt. I know a great Realtor and Auctioneer (of real estate) there and would be happy to refer you to him.
