Please can someone explain the different 'neighbourhoods' of Cambridge to me.

We are looking from afar and would like some input from those in the know. We have family who are willing to check things out for the individual apartment, but do not want to be responsible for our choice of area. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Location, location would be central square, harvard square, kendall square, and porter square. These are great areas to buy (invest) and live as a professional couple. Lot's of restaurants, night life and access to public transportation. Great demographics because of highly regarded universities. Another interesting area of cambridge to consider is East Cambridge - up and coming, near everything.

Here is everything on the market in Cambridge (you can see every place on a map and choose that way as well):

Thank you, Marie for the maps. I was really looking for information about each neighbourhood, such as demographics. I would also appreciate any input on preferences for professional couple. In other words, i think I am looking for location, location, location! lol.

Jackie,

There are 13 neighborhoods that make up Cambridge, MA. The best reference I can provide is to go to this website:
http://www.cambridgema.gov/GIS/MapAtlasList.cfm

It provides a neighborhood index map and shows which neighborhoods border what other towns.

Thanks,
Marie
