Parkway Dr, Bedford Pines, Central Park

Asked by Morgan, Atlanta, GA Thu Aug 7, 2008

Hello guys,
There are a couple 2-story condos available on Parkway Dr (419 & 423) for a pretty attractive price. We checked out the 3/2 and really loved the inside, but we are uncertain of the area (crime & drugs). We would like to stay 8 years plus and like how close it is to downtown. What are your opinions?

You can follow this link to Atlanta crime statistics. This area is a very popular place to live these days.

An 8 year hold is a sound way to focus on a property like this, and if you do have concerns about crime and immediate neighbors, then be sure to attend an HOA meeting or go the the Old Fourth Ward monthly meeting and get to know the community. Lots of cool people live nearby, and the development along Glen Iris and North is going to shift the O4W's paradigm in the years to come.

I like those buildings.

Be security minded, just like you would in any other Intown Atlanta 'hood.

One more thing, nobody calls the area Bedford Pine anymore - Bedord was named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, the Confederate officer who founded the Ku Klux Klan, so Intowners don't necessarily cotton to the legacy of that dude.

Get your real estate on!

The sign on the front of the apartment still says Bedford
Pines...what else should we call it? Everyone still calls it that.
