I am seraching for condo/townhome in Millbrae area in price range for ~40 - 50K. With the economy and housing market right now, I am not sure when is a good time for purchasing it. Basically, I will be living in the home for 3 years and sell it or rent it, hoping the housing market will pick up and the price of the property will go up. Do you think it is a good idea to purchase it for the purpose?
I am a real estate broker at Bay Area Properties in Millbrae.
Currently there are 18 single family and 20 condominium units on the market in Millbrae and they are selling quite fast. However, if you are looing to build enough equity to purchase your second home, I feel that you may need more time than 3 years... would also depend on your financial situation.
If you wish to get together and explore the possibilities, call me at 650-333-9789 to talk.

Hello Pices,
I do not think 3 years is a long enough hold period in this economy. If you are OK with renting it out if selling is not a viable action then yes jump in now. If you are uncomfortable then I suggest you hold off until you can make a longer term commitment.
As far as Park Broadway is concerned I like it very much. You could negotiate a better price and or terms than they state. They need to get their occupancy rate up. I would be happy to help you do this. (877-Lee-Sells or 650-358-3959) The two bedrooms have a nice layout and a great location. No matter what happens home values are based on Location, Location, Location. And Millbrae has it: Great Schools, Bart, Cal-Trains, Airport, proximity to San Francisco and Burlingame. shopping, freeways and good weather.
