Don't forget Hopkins/Minnetonka area, Great Hocky potential for all levels, easy access to all adjacent municipalities and a great selection of homes. Have your agent give you a sort of four corners view of the Minneapolis/St Paul area and provide you schools, sports, home inventories, etc. AND if you want to be pre-qualified for a mortgage, call me, Liz Ascent Home Loans, 612-986-4105. Good luck!

Joe,

The answer to your question is actually all over. Nearly all of the outer ring suburbs are growing. Frankly more important than growth (by growth I assume that you mean - where will my house appreciate) in the twin cities is what can you afford? You also need to balance that with how far do I want to drive to work - wherever that will be. Finding the right balance between drive and affordability is key for many twin-citians.

More than anything however, you will need to find a good buyer's agent to help you through the process and assist you in locating the right area. The twin cities can be broken up into 6 general areas and the vast majority of agents works in one of them (Minneapolis proper, St Paul proper, NE, NW, SE, SW suburbs) You will want to find out a little more about where you are working and possibly the school districts where you are considering living - once you have done that you will want to find an agent who works in the area that you are thinking of.

A good resource for finding out school district information is School House Magazine. I would love to send you a copy with no obligation so you can begin your research of the twin cities schools. Feel free to contact me through my profile and I will happyily throw one in the mail for you.

Joe,

Woodbury would be a good place for hockey for your kids and easy commute to both cities. I live in Oakdale just a few miles from Woodbury, so I know the area well. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks and good luck!

If your kids play hockey, is that an important factor of where you would like to move? There are some great suburbs with excellent hockey programs, with stable or growing populations. Are you needing a private or public school hockey program? What level do they want to play, A or AA?

Another important factor will be what price range of home you will be looking for...this will also determine which area you move to. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you, or any questions I can answer!
