It is best to shop around with a minimum of 3 different agencies. I would go with agencies that reprsent several different companies such as AAA.

Insurance, taxes and HOA maintenance are expenses that you will have when buying a home, so I can see that you are doing your homework. If you are financing, your mortgage broker will take them into account when you get prequalified, so you would learn how much you can afford to invest in your home.
The cost of your policy may vary depending on the insurance company and coverage you choose, so the best for you is contacting an insurance agent with the specifics. Please feel free to contact me for a list of trusted insurance agents my Weston clients have been using with great satisfaction, just email me to Marisac2506@aol.com or call me at (954)309-6593. I always suggest all my buyers and clients to get a wind mitigation inspection and this may reduce your policy cost drastically if your home qualifies.

As a Florida Mortgage Broker I would estimate around $300.00 mo for a 400k home.
Among other factors, credit has become part of how much borrowers will pay for insurance.
Make sure you get the extra Flood Policy, even if you're not in a Flood Zone. Its not much more and its well worth the extra costs.
Even owning certain breeds of dog can affect your rate.
Plans with higher deductibles will have lower premiums. You can also choose a basic policy vs. the superior policy.
Best to ask your auto insurance agent for a quote. You may get a deal if you bundle your policies.
If you bank with a credit union, check to see if they offer insurance services.
Best of luck to you,
