Asked by Pravar, La Jolla, San Diego, CA Fri Feb 27, 2009

.... but are there any agents who work with developers of new buildings assuming i will get good incentives and financing scheme from them . I am looking for FHA loan which again makes me one step back from downtown home buying as most of buildings r not FHA approved . I looked around some buildings like Aria , Vantage point , Alta but dint found any agent working with them

Dear Pravar,

I work closely with Atria and do know that they are FHA approved as well as putting together a lease to own program. Although many developers are not approved for FHA depending on their occupancy it is possible to get a spot loan approval done. If you'd like additional information or assistance with locating an FHA approved unit please feel free to contact me direct or via my website.

Dear Pravar,

There are not too many downtown buildings that are currently approved for FHA, all though there are some builders working hard to make that happen. You really need to work with an agent that understands this market since it is very complex and which building can go FHA. I have written a blog post on downtown real estate which you may find interesting - the link is posted below:

FHA is a great way to go, so don't give up! You just have to do your homework. I also post a list of sold properties downtown on a weekly basis:
