I work full time but make only enough money for food and utilities. There are so many empty homes out there for sale, I am looking for someone to let me live in their home for two years until my divorce is final. I can pay very little rent now, but would offer to buy the home when I have the money. I would do all maintenance and take care of home and pay all utilities, I just can't pay the full rent or a mortgage right now. You can be assured your house will be taken care of and appreciated.
Another idea would be to find someone that needs 24/7 attendant care. You could be there in the evenings and then even get paid. Just a thought.
Jim,
We're sorry to have to tell you but.....there isn't much out there to rent in your price range.........regardles of what your location is.
You might possibly try advertising your services as a long-term house-sitter or vacation housesitter or perhaps as a part-time Apartment Manager in an apartment block. I don't know what type of area you live in, but if there were any larger estates that might possibly have live-in quarters for positions such as part-time gardeners or maintenance/security staff. It's worth a shot.
Another option might be to see if you could "house-share" - for example, there may be elderly people with in-law quarters such as basement apartments who would be willing to rent in return for free maintenance, lawn care, etc. and help with the utilities.
I'd try advertising in the Classifieds or on Craigslist, and even visit a few Adult Daycare facilities to see if they have any clients whose relatives might be interested on their behalf in talking to you, and certainly check out local apartment buildings, real estate offices that deal with rentals and investors who might have a multi-unit with a vacant unit and would be willing to let you have that in return for upkeep on the property.
Best of luck!
Wow... I doubt you will get too many takers on your proposal. I would suggest to look in your local classifieds.
I would concentrate on increasing your income somehow to help out your situation the most.
Unfortanately banks do not rent out foreclosed homes. I dont know of anything in that price range at all. Even studio apartments are $400-$500 month. Your best bet is to speak with a state agency to see if they have a program to fit you into. Good luck
