My wife & I recently visited the air museum in Tucson and we were on our way to see the Titan missile museum
on I-19 and discovered The Rancho Sahuarita Master Planned Community. We toured the Del Webb/Pulte Sonora 55 homes and really like 2 models that include many upgrades as standard. 3/2 approx. 1450 square feet. The list price is 211K to 215K which is reasonable but there is a 72K price reduction that reduces the price to 139K.
This seems like a great deal but we are not familiar with the Tucson area. What do you advise? Is there anything else comparable? It would be a second home or rental. We live and work in Southern California. Thanks, JK

Hi JK,
The Sahuarita area is growing, and the Rancho Sahuarita community has been growing over the last few years. Feel freet o read my blog post on the community that I recently published. http://activerain.com/blogsview/445947/Rancho-Sahuarita-ranked-the I have moved several people into the Del Webb community there that are really enjoying the community. The pricing is reasonable at the moment, and as Michael metioned they have a new shopping center that is close by. It is a short commute to Tucson, so it depends on your lifestyle. If you like to be closer to shopping malls and restaurants. then you do have a 20 minute drive toTucson, but a 5 minute drive to Green Valley where they do have smaller shopping centers. If you are looking for a retirement community, it would be hard to beat the pricing that they currently have in any other retirement community in Tucson. What a coincidence. My husband and I started our search for a home at the Del Web community in Sahuartia. We were living in Pasadena at the time and I was CEO of Keller Williams Realty there. On our way back to the airport in Phoenix we discovered an active adult resort community just north of Tucson called SaddleBrooke and purchased a home that day. We truly love it here. If you would like more information on this community and the Del Web Sun City community in Oro Valley please let me know and I will be happy to email you detailed information. How did you enjoy your visit to the Titan Missile Museum? This weekend at the Marana Airport located off Avra Valley Rd exit on I-10 north of Tucson they have a collection of WAR BIrds WWII planes B-17,B24 you can come a take a flight. While you are here take time to enjoy the NW side of Marana, Dove Mountain with its golf courses that host the Accenture Golf tournement with players like Tigger Woods offers many beautiful homes in your price range. The Gladden Farms area is set among jogging paths and a lot of bike trails. I am very familar with this area as I make it my home and place of business I am always happy to share my home town with new people. If this sounds like something you would like more information on please check out my web site, call make an appointment for me to show you around. Good luck in your home search I am sure you will love living in the Sonoran Desert. www.vwallace.longrealty.com

Hi Jim,
As you've discovered, Rancho Sahuarita is a pretty amazing development. They just opened a brand new Fry's this week and more restaurants/retailers will be popping up in the coming months. I've been to those Del Webb homes and they are very nice indeed. Many new home builders have been offering some very attractive incentives and Rancho Sahuarita has been near the top of the pack with their discounts. Let me ask you a couple of questions about your second home; is there a certain area of town were you wish to live? Are you set on an age-restricted community? If you don't mind living NW of Tucson, check out Gladden Farms (http://www.gladdenfarms.com), another up and coming master-planned community in Marana.
