My son would be a first time homeowner. If he finds a property, and we co-sign and will he still qualify for the $8,000 credit?

My son's income is most likely lower than that which would qualify him for a loan, therefore, the need to co-sign

You should always consult a tax professional when it comes to your taxes. And as of today (Sept 21-2009) your son must be under contact by Nov 1 and close by Nov 30 for the tax credit. So hop to it! There are still some great deals to be had. I'm in the Pueblo area, I'd be happy to help!

Yes, he should be able to use that credit. You would be non-occupant co-borrowers. I'd be happy to help you find an agent who knows that area.
