exception. I have heard that she can give me 1% of the house and I can get a tax exception under my name since this would be my first time buyer home. Is this true?
Thanks, Nikki

You need to discuss your options with a real estate and/or closing attorney

Nikki, I would recommend you contact the Jefferson Parish Assessor at 504-362-4100. I would definitely have you talk to them to get your answer. The web site is http://www.jpassessor.com
to get additional information. If you are going there, the address is located at 200 Derbigny Street in Gretna, LA. This is the West Bank phone number.

Another great site for residents of Jefferson Parish is http://www.jeffparish.net. I hope I have helped you..
